In short
The lowest advertised private MBBS tuition in India is roughly ₹10 Lakhs a year, in Bihar’s open-quota private colleges, followed closely by Uttar Pradesh at ₹11.5–13.5 Lakhs. Both states admit candidates from every Indian state without a domicile certificate. Below is every college in this directory under ₹12 Lakhs a year.

Why Bihar and Uttar Pradesh are cheapest
Two reasons, and neither is a catch. State fee committees in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh regulate private tuition more tightly than the deemed university sector, which sets its own fees. And both states are “open” — 100% of private seats go to all-India candidates — so the colleges compete for a national pool rather than a captive local one.
The trade-off is that these are state-counselling seats. You register on the state portal, track the state calendar, and place a state security deposit. That is administrative work, not a quality difference.
The advertised fee is roughly half the real cost
Annual tuition is the number in the brochure. It is not the number a family has to raise. The course runs 4.5 years plus a one-year internship, so accommodation is paid for five years while tuition is paid for four and a half, and most colleges hold a refundable security deposit on top.
A ₹11 Lakhs-a-year college is roughly a ₹60–70 Lakh commitment by graduation. That is still less than half a deemed university seat — the point is to plan against the real figure, not the advertised one.

The advertised fee is annual tuition only. This adds the years, the hostel and the deposit.
What to check before choosing on price alone
A low fee is a good reason to shortlist a college and a bad reason to lock it first. Before you place it high in a choice list, check the attached hospital’s bed count and daily outpatient numbers, and confirm the college’s current NMC seat recognition. A cheap seat at a college with a thin clinical load is not a bargain — you are buying five years of patient exposure, and that is what makes the degree worth having.
Frequently asked questions
Which is the cheapest private medical college in India?
Bihar's open-quota private colleges carry the lowest advertised annual tuition, starting around ₹10 Lakhs a year, with Uttar Pradesh close behind at ₹11.5–13.5 Lakhs. Both states admit non-domicile candidates. The live ranked list is in the table above.
Can I study MBBS in a private college for under ₹50 Lakhs total?
It is close but difficult. The cheapest open-state colleges come to roughly ₹55–70 Lakhs across the course once 4.5 years of tuition and five years of hostel and mess are counted. Budget above ₹55 Lakhs rather than below it, and confirm every charge in writing before reporting.
Are low-fee private medical colleges NMC approved?
Every college listed on this site is NMC-approved — that is a condition of appearing in state or MCC counselling at all. Approval is granted per academic year, so confirm the current year's seat recognition on the NMC website before you lock a choice.
